University of Maryland Web Site Guidelines
University of Maryland Web Applicable Marks
Though technology is available which allows for many options such as animation and 3-D modeling, it is not appropriate to apply these techniques to any components of the University of Maryland wordmark. Any distortion of the identity marks dilutes and confuses the University's image.
These graphics may not be altered or changed in any way.
It is University of Maryland policy that every page on
the university web site be identified
with the "
web page wrap" (as of May 7, 2008). (This does not
apply to personal student pages.)
Along with the "web page wrap," two
versions of the identity have in the past been
adapted for web use: the informal seal
and the university signature mark.
[Please note: if a University of
Maryland web site is being redesigned or newly developed, please view "Official
UM Web Site Wrap" for revised guidelines.] The word mark should
always be placed in the upper left corner of each web page, and coded with a
link back to the Maryland home page (www.umd.edu).
The marks, and their supplied sizes, on this page are the approved versions for web use. Do not alter any the following logos in any way.
Informal Seal
Signature Mark
