The
President's
Commission on Women's Issues, chaired by Donna Wiseman, has announced
that
Ms.
Laura Nichols,
Women's
Studies, and
Dr.
Denise Gottfredson,
Criminology
and Criminal Justice, have each been named 2007 Outstanding
Woman of the Year Award.
The award, established in 1977, recognizes women who have made compelling
contributions to the improvement of the quality of women's lives.
The award ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.,
in the Maryland Room at Marie Mount Hall. Refreshments and light snacks will
be provided.
