Snow policy: If the university is closed for inclement weather classes may be extended with the course will meeting on as many Saturdays as required. Contact your instructor for exact details. Procedures for Delayed Openings and Campus Closiing Due to Weather
Parking on Campus: Parking permits will not be needed during Winter term. Any vehicle (with or without a current valid UMCP-DCP permit) may park in lots 1, 2, 4,5, 6, 7, 9, 11, and 16. Faculty/ Staff lot restrictions are stated on lot entrance signs. Most meters are enforced from 7:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Department of Transportation web site
Housing: On-campus housing in University residence halls is typically not available to students enrolling for the Winter term. If you must locate a residence near the University you are encouraged to contact the University's Off-Campus Housing Office, 1195 Stamp Student Union, 301.314.3645 to inquire about the availability of "sublets" or other short-term accommodations. The available supply will be limited. Inquiries should be made 30-45 days before arrival. Department of Resident Life web site
Students with confirmed room assignments for the Spring 2004 semester in residence halls within the North Hill, South Hill and Leonardtown communities may be able to use their room during Winter term. However, students assigned to residence halls within the Cambridge, Denton and Ellicott communities cannot be accommodated because these buildings will be closed for the entire winter recess. Students keeping their same rooms in the North Hill, South Hill and Leonardtown communities may resgister for winter recess housing by calling 301.314.7484 or visiting Room 0200 Calvert Hall. An additional housing fee of $276 is charged for stays during winter recess.

Veterans Affairs:Students attending the University under the Veterans Education Assistance Act (Title 38,U.S. Code) will be certified based on their enrollment status after they have completed registration.
