Winter Storm Advisory for Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005

A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service calling for snow and a wintery mix of sleet and freezing rain to spread across central Maryland late Saturday night into Sunday.

University officials are monitoring the progress of the storm and have instituted measures to ensure that events planned this Sunday should be able to take place as scheduled.

Grounds crews will be working to maintain accessibility in the areas where events are scheduled, including Shoemaker Hall where a variety a testing programs begin there at 8 a.m. Subsequent events are scheduled in the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, and in Comcast Center.

If the weather causes any changes to the schedules for these events, information will be posted on our Web site, www.umd.edu, with links to the Web sites and information phone lines for event sponsors.
