University of Maryland Web Site Will Be Unavailable From 5:00 p.m. Friday Until 4:00 p.m. Saturday Due to Planned Power Outage

Many OIT and university computing resources, including many areas of the University of Maryland web site, will be unavailable between 5 p.m. on Friday, May 26 and 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 27 due to a power outage planned by Facilities Management.

Applications and services that will be unavailable include: ARES (PHR, Electronic Forms, Data Warehouse), the athletic ticket server, CICS, DEANS, Glue, the Mail@umd e-mail system (including e-mail reflectors), WAM, CorporateTime, Digital Imaging, the news service (source of newsgroups), Listserv lists, Testudo, WebCT, and Webhosting.

The Directory, directory.umd.edu, the university home page, www.umd.edu, and the OIT Help Desk page, www.helpdesk.umd.edu will be available during the outage.

This maintenance outage was scheduled for a timeframe when demand for services is low.

Any changes in times or duration will be posted on the OIT Help Desk site www.helpdesk.umd.edu
