University of Maryland in Kiplinger's Top 15 as a Best Value for Students

Kiplinger
A University of Maryland education is a great value—and Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine agrees. Its latest rankings for 2006 shows the university has ascended to No. 15—up three positions from last year, and a best for Maryland. Kiplinger's also ranks the value of an education for out-of-state students. This year, UM rose from No. 20 to No. 13—again, an all-time best ranking.

Maryland's ascendancy during this decade has been steady:

(In-state tuition value)
2000: No. 33
2002 No. 30
2003: No. 36
2005 No. 18
2006: No. 15

(Out-of-state value)
2003 No. 15
2005 No. 20
2006 No. 13

(Kiplinger's has not published these rankings every year.)
