Monday, March 14, at 2:00 p.m., U.S. Representative Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) will host a Town Hall meeting at the School of Public Policy, Van Munching Hall, with students from the University of Maryland to discuss strengthening Social Security.

Rep. Hoyer will take on the President's privatization proposals directly by responding to a Republican-produced video of the President discussing the Administration's risky plans to privatize Social Security.

Congressman Hoyer will be joined by Hans Riemer, Washington Director of Rock the Vote, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing political participation among young people. Hoyer invites students, faculty and members of the College Park community to participate in this town hall meeting so that they can learn firsthand the facts about Social Security and how proposals being presented by the Bush Administration will affect their Social Security benefit.
