Dr. Fauci is director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He advises the government on the global AIDS crisis and threats related to bioterrorism. Dr. Fauci is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, American Academy of Arts and Sciences and American Philosophical Society as well as many other professional societies.
