We come together once a year in convocation to celebrate the accomplishments of faculty and staff selected by their peers for special recognition.

Please join me tomorrow afternoon, Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel as we honor those receiving the Distinguished Service Awards, and those who have been named Distinguished Scholar-Teachers, Distinguished University Professors, and Kirwan Prize winners. It will be my pleasure at that time also to award the President's Medal to Professor William L. Fourney.

This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our shared values and express our gratitude to some of those whose contributions make this University a great institution. I hope you will join me at the ceremony and the reception immediately afterward and help make this a very special day.
