A debate will take place among the candidates in the U.S. Maryland Senate race, sponsored by the African American Democratic Club of Prince George’s County (AADCPGC) and the Norman and Florence Brody Public Policy Forum, University of Maryland on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 7:00 p.m., in the Stamp Student Union, Grand Ballroom at the University of Maryland.
The candidates will debate the issues that concern the people of the state of Maryland, such as education, crime, an increase in energy prices, and immigration.
The questions to the candidates will be presented by Juan Williams (National Public Radio’s senior correspondent and internationally recognized political journalist and author) and Professor Ronald Walters (Director, University of Maryland African-American Leadership Institute, and distinguished professor of African-American and urban politics and leadership). The debate will be moderated by Professor Doug Besharov, University of Maryland School of Public Policy, and Director, Norman and Florence Brody Public Policy Forum.
