Illness Did Not Affect Campus Buildings

News reports over the past couple of days about an outbreak of illness affecting some university faculty and staff at an off-campus building have apparently caused confusion and concern about the safety of campus buildings.

The building where the outbreak occurred was the American Center for Physics in College Park near the Metro Station. No campus buildings were affected in any way. The university faculty and staff who were affected did not come to campus while ill, and they have recovered. All university buildings, including the John S. Toll Physics Building, are considered safe for classes and other activities at this time.
