The University of Maryland is teaming with the National Collegiate Inventors & Innovators Alliance (NCIIA) to bring the Technology Startup Boot Camp to the area on Saturday, October 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event, geared towards faculty and graduate students from technology-based disciplines at the University of Maryland and local universities, will be held at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center on the University of Maryland campus.
This year's speakers include representatives from Ernst and Young, Fish & Richardson, the Telecommunications Development Fund, Techno Venture Management, SpaceVest, Information Experts, and LM&O Advertising.
During the Boot Camp, participants will learn how to: evaluate their ideas; define needs and identify customers; effectively manage intellectual property and licensing; build a team and find the right partners; find money for ventures; and perfect business plans, slide shows, and elevator speeches.
