Class of 2007—2008 Senior Class Gift Ideas

1. Class of 2008 Lounge

The SE interior brick hallway of Stamp Student Union is in desperate need of renovations/ refurnishing (this is the hallway near the outside ATM across from the sidewalk from the Nyumburu Cultural Center).

Currently it is more or less an empty hallway. The senior class gift could provide furniture, flat-screen televisions, and a professional mural or picture collage. We were the first senior class to fully enjoy the refurnished student union so it would be great to contribute to it. Lots of people pass through this hallway everyday so our gift would be very visible and useful.
2. Garden of Remembrance
The TKF Foundation and the University of Maryland are teaming up to give the area surrounding the Chapel a serious makeover. Plans are in the works to create a “Garden of Remembrance.” This garden will have many aspects including a labyrinth, outdoor seating areas, and artificial stream. Our senior class could help finance this important effort. In addition to the enhancements above, we could also possibly add a gazebo in the outdoor sitting areas.
3. Denton and CSPAC Entrance Gates
The entrance to the University campus at the intersection of Stadium Drive and University Boulevard could use some work. One possibility is to build a formal entrance (similar to the one at the front of the university on Route One) on the road between Denton Hall and CSPAC. This could be a brick entrance offering an official welcome to the University of Maryland. This gift would ensure that the two main entrances to the university are equally impressive.

Take a moment now to support our Senior Class Gift by Making a Gift in honor of our graduation.

Our senior class goal is to have 50 percent participation.

Just think...if every senior gave $20.08 we'd have no problem exceeding last year's efforts of $25,000.
