Cynthia Edmunds brings 25 years of experience in higher education, including 17 years at Johns Hopkins University in academic administration. She has worked for 15 years providing counseling in work relationships, performance coaching, mediation, and process consulting.

From 2005 - 2008, Ms. Edmunds was the Associate Director of the Adele H. Stamp Student Union, focusing on organizational effectiveness. In this role, she was responsible for increasing individual and organizational capacity in a diverse community. Her work as the equity officer for the Stamp Student Union supported a vibrant and inclusive organization.

As the Assistant to the President, Ms. Edmunds has a dual appointment to the President's Office and Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) where she serves as a spokesperson for diversity and equity matters in the workplace. Her portfolio includes working with campus colleagues on issues related to workforce engagement as well as organizational culture and change.

As the University's equity administrator, Ms. Edmunds ensures campus compliance with all federal and state regulations related to faculty and staff searches. In her role as Staff Ombuds Officer, Ms. Edmunds provides neutral, confidential assistance for exempt and non-exempt staff and is responsible for coaching through and mediating conflict.
