The
Office of LGBT Equity is a unit within the Division of Academic Affairs
and reports to the Associate Provost for Equity and Diversity. We are
an institutional member of the National Consortium of Directors of
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Resources in Higher Education.
We
envision the University of Maryland as an institution where equity
prevails for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, staff,
faculty, and alumni.
We
provide a wide range of information, education, and support services
regarding sexual orientation and gender identity or expression, and we
work to establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming
environment for sexual and gender minorities, their families and
friends, and the campus community.
HIV/AIDS
is a global issue. The Office of LGBT Equity broadly constructs the
concept of sexual health and welcomes the opportunity to provide
leadership, education, and resources for the campus community.

Restroom Inventory
Click here for an inventory of rest rooms on campus
This
inventory of campus rest rooms is provided to insure greater safety and
privacy for transgender, gender non-conforming, and any other person
who needs this assurance when using a public rest room. While including
basic information on all rest rooms, we believe its greatest utility is
in identifying all unisex and family rest rooms, and any rest room
which the patron can lock from the inside. The intent is to make the
University of Maryland a safer and more welcoming place for our LGBTQ
population.
