1. EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANTS (ACADEMIC COACHES) NEEDED

The Academic Support and Career Development Unit within the Department of Athletics is currently hiring Education Assistants (EA)/Academic Coaches for this academic year. We require our Educational Assistants to be Master's or PhD level students who have experience working with students.

An EA aids in the development of critical aspects of learning for academic success. Responsibilities: assisting in developing/implementing short and long-term goals for the student-athlete as well as cognitive strategies, academic skills/behaviors including, but not limited to, organization, time management, note taking, reading, study and test preparation, self-advocacy and critical thinking/problem-solving.

This is a hourly paid position. Our immediate needs are individuals within the HESI/FMSC/EDHD/EDCP/EDCI/EDPS masters or PhD programs.

2. Summer Time is the Right Time for a Health Screening at the University Health Center

The University Health Center is offering affordable Health Screenings to faculty, staff, and graduate students this summer!

NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY!

For only $15*, you can obtain a blood panel which includes the following:

* Cholesterol test**
* Blood Glucose test

For Best Results, Do Not Eat 12 hours before blood draw. Lab results will be mailed within two weeks.

Health Screening Days
The screening is offered between 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

* The Health Center will accept cash, check, Terrapin Express, or Credit Cards. Payment will be accepted at the Appointment Check-In Desk.
** An overnight fast will be required for accurate cholesterol levels.

4. $$ PAID study! Native English speakers learning Spanish (45 mins)!

Are you a native speaker of English who has intermediate to advanced knowledge of Spanish? If so, you could earn $10 by participating in a study in the University of Maryland Department of Psychology. We are investigating the cognitive mechanisms involved in switching between languages.

To participate in this study, you must be:
-- a native speaker of English, and
-- have at least intermediate proficiency in Spanish (i.e., have taken upper-division Spanish courses)

Participation in this study will involve a one-hour session, scheduled at your convenience. You will be compensated $10 for your time.
