1. DIVERSITY TIP OF THE WEEK: Be a Brave Leader

Event Type(s): Other,Diversity

Supervisors, managers and leaders have special opportunities and a responsibility to create a fair, equitable and inclusive workplace. For example, when wanting "everyone" to participate in an event, are non-exempt staff truly able to go? If an employee wants to avail herself of tuition remission, are supervisors flexible enough to allow for their occasional absence? Is it actually ok for a man to take paternity leave? Sometimes inclusion work requires supervisors to make decisions that are not always comfortable, but reap great rewards in employee engagement, motivation, and gratitude. Be a brave leader.
