The University of Maryland School of Public Health is conducting a research study of smokeless tobacco products to learn how different smokeless products affect brain waves.

To participate you must:
.Use smokeless tobacco weekly
.Have used smokeless tobacco for at least a year
.Be 18 -55 years
.Be right-handed
.Be willing to comply with research study requirements

You will be compensated $400 for your time and travel.

2. Sign up for a Brain & Language Experiment! (Paid Study)

When: Thursday, August 21, 2014 - Tuesday, September 30, 2014
Where: Marie Mount : EEG Lab : 3416-C
Event Type(s): Other

Participate in an experiment at the Cognitive Neuroscience of Language (CNL) Lab! Read sentences and answer questions while we record your brain's electrical activity (EEG) on your scalp.

Compensation: $10/hour, most studies last 2-3 hours.

Requirements: must be a native speaker of American English with minimal exposure to other languages before the age of 5, right-handed, below age 30, and hair style must allow the EEG cap to fit closely to the scalp.

3. First Look Fair 2014

Registration for this year's First Look Fair is now open. The fair will be held on Wednesday, September 17th and Thursday, September 18th. Involvement in the First Look Fair offers a number of benefits to participants, including:

 The opportunity to showcase your department's course offerings, programs, or activities;
 The chance to meet with new and returning students in a relaxed, informal atmosphere;
 The opportunity to interact with professional faculty and staff from other campus academic and service departments.

The price to participate is $25.00, which covers the cost of a table and two chairs for both days. Food will be provided for purchase through campus dining.
