Professor Anthony Pagden (UCLA) presents a paper titled "That Peculiar Word 'Imperium': Defining Empire Rome to Washington." Thursday December 5, 4-6 p.m. (KEY 2120). Professor Richard Price will provide comments.

There will also be a Lunchtime workshop for faculty and graduate students Noon-1:30 p.m. about Professor Pagden's book The Enlightenment and Why It Still Matters in KEY2120 (the Merrill Room). To reserve lunch, rsvp to millercenter@umd.edu.
Professor Pagden is Distinguished Professor in the Departments of Political Science and History at UCLA. He is the author of more than a dozen books.
