On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. Work and family policy FAQs address questions of general interest to faculty members regarding UMD policies that pertain to work and family, leave and tenure. The UMD ADVANCE Program for Inclusive Excellence has posted an FAQ document regarding issues related to "stop the clock" (delay of tenure review due to childbirth or adoption), part-time tenure status due to childbirth or adoption, the Family Care Resource and Referral Service, the UMD Family and Medical leave policy, and other resources and types of leave available to faculty.
