On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. The email will include details on how to access the new calendar and how to submit events for approval. Questions? Email UMDevents@umd.edu.

Exotic Voices

When: Sunday, October 20, 2013 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Where: Clarice Smith PAC : Gildenhorn Recital Hall
Event Type(s): Concert

Faculty artist Delores Ziegler invites UMD School of Music alumni and faculty to perform rarely heard works for voice and chamber ensemble by Delage, Berio, Poulenc, de Falla and Stravinsky. Evocative of far-off lands and distant times, these exquisite and sometimes raucous selections are sure to engage your imagination.

The Music in Mind series celebrates the role of music in our culture and our lives, explores sources of inspiration and points of intersection in musical traditions, and presents music in a context that encourages reflection and discovery. Proceeds from Music in Mind concerts benefit the School of Music's undergraduate scholarship fund.
