On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. Come join us for an opportunity to hear from experts in the field about issues facing families, juveniles, and incarcerated youth within the Maryland and DC Juvenile Justice System. The program will highlight issues such as: education, drug use, mental health, sentencing and more. Experts speaking during the event include Congresswoman Donna Edwards of Maryland, Prince George's County Assistant State Attorney Jamilah Adams, and State of Maryland Secretary of Juvenile Services Sam Abed. Also learn more about the Justice for Juniors mentoring program and how YOU can get involved helping these youth.
