On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. The email will include details on how to access the new calendar and how to submit events for approval. Questions? Email

Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, Level 1 -- Learn how to create presentations

This course is for students who are interested in learning how to create and modify basic presentations. Participants will learn how to:

. create a presentation
. format text on slides
. add graphics
. add tables and charts
. present data

Prerequisites: Participants should be familiar with using computers, a mouse and keyboard. Participants should be able to start and close programs, find information on the computer, and create and save files and folders. Familiarity with Microsoft Word is recommended.
