On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. The email will include details on how to access the new calendar and how to submit events for approval. Questions? Email UMDevents@umd.edu.

Tea Time Tech Talks are informal conversations about pedagogical challenges in teaching in a technologically-enhanced learning environment, co-hosted by the Division of Information Technology and the University of Maryland Libraries. Free flowing conversation is mentored by knowledgeable faculty or librarians and intended to raise as many questions as might be answered.
This Thursday's session "Tablets and Learning Analytics: Harnessing Ubiquious Data for Education" raises such questions as
. How can we harness the "learning anywhere" power of tablets for reaching learning assessment goals?
. What are the privacy concerns inherent in the world of ubiquitous mobile learning?
