On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. Join the Alternative Breaks movement and do something different for break! To learn more about this year's 26 AB experiences, drop by the AB Meet and Greet Wednesday, Sept. 25th, 4:00-6:00 pm in the Atrium, STAMP Student Union
Alternative Breaks are year-long team experiences that dive in to social issues and communities across the world. Alternative Breaks culminate with 26 service-learning trips during winter, spring and summer breaks. Participants travel both locally and internationally to engage in active service, learn about social issues, and build upon community assets all while making lasting memories and great friends. Advisors are staff/faculty members who provide advising and guidance fr the student trip leaders.
