On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. Master's and Ph.D. students are invited to the first Graduate School Ph.D. Completion Project Workshop: Dissertation and Thesis Time Management of the semester, on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. in Ulrich Recital Hall in Tawes Building.
Dr. Marcia Marinelli, Director of the Learning Assistance Service, has a wealth of experience helping graduate students alleviate the difficulties often encountered in the process of completing the dissertation or thesis. Participants will learn how to set goals, measure progress, get back on track when things do not go as planned, and complete their research projects.
