On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. The email will include details on how to access the new calendar and how to submit events for approval. Questions? Email UMDevents@umd.edu.

National Preparedness Month

Event Type(s): Other

September is National Preparedness Month. Preparedness is a shared responsibility, it takes a whole community. Preparing can start with four important steps:

1) Be informed about emergencies that could happen, and identify sources of information in your community that will be helpful before, during and after an emergency.
2) Make a plan for what to do in an emergency.
3) Build an emergency supply kit.
4) Get involved.

University of Maryland Emergency Management encourages you to be better prepared and invites you to join us in this effort.
