Event Type(s): Other

PVC is one of the most commonly used, but most dangerous, plastics. It is found in many things including food and beverage containers. According to the Natural Resource Defense Council, its production releases toxic substances into the environment, including dioxins. Heating PVC can increase the chances of chemical additives leaching into food and beverages. To identify PVC, look for the number 3 inside the recycling loop on the bottom of your containers. Make sure that you purchase food and beverages containers for that are PVC-free.
