On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. The email will include details on how to access the new calendar and how to submit events for approval. Questions? Email UMDevents@umd.edu.

Research study for 4- and 6-year-old children

Where: Biology - Psychology
Event Type(s): Other

We are interested in 4- and 6-year-old children's social cognition, memory, and brain development.

This study requires 3 visits. During the first visit, your child would participate in an fMRI scan. Here's a video describing the method (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9T6m21AZ80). In the other two sessions your child would be asked to complete several different types of games/activities.

Your child will receive a picture of their brain and a toy at the end of each session. You will receive $20 for the scan session and then an additional $10 per hour for the behavioral sessions.
