On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. The email will include details on how to access the new calendar and how to submit events for approval. Questions? Email UMDevents@umd.edu.

Violist James Dunhams's rich background includes having been founding member of the Naumburg Award winning Sequoia String Quartet and subsequently violist of the Grammy Award winning Cleveland Quartet. An impassioned advocate of new music, he has premiered and recorded several works written for him by American composer Libby Larsen.

Today, observe the UMD Viola Studio as they refine their artistry in a masterclass with Dunham.
