On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. The email will include details on how to access the new calendar and how to submit events for approval. Questions? Email UMDevents@umd.edu.

Description: Adobe Photoshop has been an indispensable image-editing software application for many years. As an aspiring graphic designer, you would like to familiarize yourself with design creation and image editing using this software. Understanding the different tools and features available in Photoshop CS4 will help you maximize your creative potential. In this course, you will use the various tools and features of Photoshop CS4 to work with images.

Prerequisites: Before taking this course, students should have basic Windows application skills, such as copying and pasting objects, formatting text, saving files, and so on. It is also recommended that students have some experience with digital photography, and graphics working with Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign, or Microsoft Office Publisher.
