Title: DNA Barcode Initiative for the Plant Species of Eastern Nigeria

DNA barcoding initiative for the species of Eastern Nigeria is an effort by Bowie State University, DNA Learning Center, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and Godfrey Okoye University to use DNA barcoding tool to study genetic diversity of the species of Eastern Nigeria. The overall goals are to Identify new species, new polymorphisms within existing species and to publish the DNA barcode(s) in genebank(s) for easy reference and utilization by scientists from all over the world. Species were also studied for phylogenetic relationships with other species in the genebanks.
