When: Tuesday, April 09, 2013 12:15 PM - 1:30 PM
Where: Van Munching : 1203

The School of Public Policy's Tuesday Policy Forum will discuss the Global Energy Assessment (GEA). Launched in 2012, GEA defines a new global energy policy agenda--one that transforms the way society thinks about, uses, and delivers energy. Involving specialists from a range of disciplines, industry groups, and policy areas, GEA research aims to facilitate equitable and sustainable energy services for all, in particular the two billion people who currently lack access to clean, modern energy. Prof Anand Patwardhan, the co-Chair of the GEA, will present an overview of the report, followed by a panel discussion with three distinguished energy scholars to discuss of the major messages in the GEA and what they imply for global energy policy and development priorities for the coming decade.
