Mr. Stewart has been with the Office of Sustainability at the University of Maryland since its inception in 2007. He developed and leads the Chesapeake Project, Student Sustainability Advisors program, and administers the University Sustainability Fund, among other projects. Mark earned his Master's degree in Higher Education Policy & Leadership from the University of Maryland where he studied the role of higher education in creating a sustainable society. He is also a contributing editor to the International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education.
