Writers Here and Now Presents Jill McCorkle and Michael Palmer

Jill McCorkle is the author of ten books-five of which have been selected as New York Times Notable Books. The recipient of the New England Book Award, the John Dos Passos Prize for Excellence in Literature, and the North Carolina Prize for Literature, she teaches creating writing at North Carolina State University and lives in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Her most recent novel is Life After Life.

Michael Palmer has written twenty books of poetry, including, most recently, Thread. His honors include two grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, a Lila Wallace-Reader's Digest Writer's Award, a Guggenheim Foundation fellowship, the Shelley Memorial Prize from the Poetry Society of America, and he was awarded the 2006 Wallace Stevens Award In 1999, he was elected a Chancellor of The Academy of American Poets. He lives in San Francisco.
