Wellness Tip of the Week: Pick up a book

Event Type(s): Health

Reading for pleasure is a great way to pursue intellectual wellness. The practice of reading exercises many different parts of your brain, strengthening your neural pathways and helping you improve language skills and concentration. It can also be a great way to distract a busy mind, which can be a useful technique for relaxation and stress management. So next time you have a free moment, pick up a book and your favorite beverage or snack, and enjoy simultaneous relaxation and mental stimulation.
