On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. The email will include details on how to access the new calendar and how to submit events for approval. Questions? Email UMDevents@umd.edu.

The School of Public Policy's Tuesday Policy Forum will feature Scott D. Pattison, Executive Director of the National Association of State Budget Officers (NASBO) in Washington, D.C. He served for four years as Virginia's state budget director and also headed the Regulatory and Economic Analysis section of the Virginia Department of Planning and Budget. He previously served in a variety of capacities in the office of the Virginia Attorney General, including as Counsel on finance issues. Pattison has served on numerous boards and has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Richmond and is currently Vice Chair of the Association for Budgeting and Financial Management (ABFM.Identified as an important "Player" in public policy by The Washington Post, Pattison is frequently interviewed by national news organizations including The New York Times and National Public Radio.
