On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. Join University of Maryland Legal Counsel Anne Bowden for a lively discussion of the University's Policy on Intellectual Property. Learn when you can claim ownership of research, publications, inventions, and data -- and when you cannot. Learn about the University system for determining ownership and licensing rights and what you can do if a dispute arises. Find out about restrictions on faculty use of student work and other protections you may not know about. This is a great opportunity to learn about the University's intellectual property policy in a forum where questions will be encouraged!
