This talk will focus on the role of the Palestinian refugee problem in Middle East politics since 1948, and in defining Israel - US relations. It will also discuss why the Palestinian refugee problem has been ignored in most Israeli scholarship, and survey Israeli policy towards the problem from 1948 until 1967. Lunch will be provided.
