Bernice Sandler, Senior Scholar at the Women's Research and Education Institute in Washington, D.C., will be presenting our ADVANCE Distinguished Woman Scholar seminar on Thursday, March 14 from 2-3:30 in the College of Education, Benjamin Building, Room 0220. Perhaps best known as "the godmother of Title IX," Bernice Sandler is a national expert on issues related to achieving equity for women. Her lecture, "The Chilly Climate for Women: Subtle Bias in Classrooms and What we Can Do About It," will focus on issues and strategies related to equity in the classroom.
This seminar is hosted by the College of Education, The University Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and the UMD ADVANCE Program for Inclusive Excellence.
