On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. Film Screening Event - Silent Classic 'Au Bonheur des Dames' with Live Music from Andrew Simpson

Julien Duvivier's adaption of Emile Zola's novel 'Au Bonheur des Dames' includes beautifully shot sequences of Gare Saint-Lazare train station, the streets of Paris, and the Galleries Lafayette department store.

This film will be accompanied by composer and pianist, Andrew Simpson. Simpson is ordinary professor of music at The Catholic University of America. Simpson is also the House Film Accompanist at the Library of Congress' Mt. Pony Theater and the National Gallery of Art.

This event is free and open to the public and was organized by the Film Studies, with funding generously provided by the Pepsi Enhancement Fund.
