Following a reception from 5:00-6:00 p.m. (Atrium of the Art-Sociology Building), the George Levitine Lecture, "Poetry in Ink: Form and Rhythm in Japanese Calligraphy," will be delivered by Dr. John T. Carpenter, Curator of Japanese Art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Dinner will be held at Adele's Restaurant at 7:30 p.m. Dinner tickets are $40 ($20 for graduate students). For reservations, please contact Deborah Down at ddown@umd.edu by February 15, 2013.
On March 9th, sessions will take place at the National Gallery of Art in Washington. All presentations are free of charge.
