On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. Mr. Brown will discuss being a sports writer from a Black person's perspective, how journalism has changed over his 30-year career, and share insights into the journalism and sports business. Clifton Brown has spent more than three decades as a sports writer. For the past five years, he has been a national NFL writer with Sporting News.com and has recently returned from covering his eighth Super Bowl.
