Clean Water Connections: Law, History, Science, and Communities

The 2012-13 Maryland Water Symposium focuses on Environmental Law and the Social Sciences. Marking the 40th anniversary of the Clean Water Act, the symposium will provide an overview of the CWA's enactment, implementation, and status. Speakers from sociology, anthropology, and economics will contribute perspectives on how communities are affected by, and respond to, environmental challenges and proposed or prescribed solutions.

Of interest to: environmentally-minded students in all fields of study, scientists and engineers interested in learning about the societal context of their work, and any water resources researchers and practitioners interested in building connections among all the sciences.
