On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. The email will include details on how to access the new calendar and how to submit events for approval. Questions? Email UMDevents@umd.edu.


Spring 2013 ESOL Conversation Program ESOL Participant Registration (Students)

The ESOL Conversation Program aims to assist students and visiting scholars who wish to improve their conversational English speaking skills through engaging in conversations focused on cultures, customs and other topics of interest. Volunteers may also share their knowledge on English pronunciation, idioms and vocabulary for everyday use.

Students may choose one or both of the following conversation settings:

Conversation Groups where students meet weekly in small groups with other ESOL participants and an English-speaking volunteer for 90 minutes.

Conversation Partners where students meet with an English-speaking volunteer one-on-one weekly for 60 minutes.
