A new course is being offered during spring break (AGNR499P)that travels to Cuzco, Peru. This course is open to everyone in graduate and undergraduate at UMD.
Participants will explore sustainable community development and indigenous culture in Peru. Through hands-on activities, field trips and lectures, participants will acquire a broad knowledge of Peru's development challenges and its diverse culture.
We will be staying with a Quechua community outside of Cuzco and helping them build capacity to start their own eco-tourism service. The project for the course will be helping our community partner with necessary research to expand their program.
Our experience will culminate in a visit to Machu Picchu!
