On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. The Graduate School invites master's and doctoral students and postdocs to its Ph.D. Completion Project Workshop: NIH & NSF CAREER DEVELOPMENT GRANTS FOR PRE- AND POSTDOCS this Friday, Nov. 30. The workshop will be held in Ulrich Recital Hall in Tawes Building from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Our facilitator, Dr. Robert Porter, Director of Research Development at the University of Tennessee, will focus on National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants that support master's and doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows as they transition through critical career stages: from early graduate study to the doctoral dissertation, the initial postdoctoral fellowship, and the independent investigator position.
