On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. John Walsh, ESPN's executive vice president and executive editor, and former Washington Post sports editor and Director of the Shirley Povich Center for Sports Journalism George Solomon, talk all things sports in a special edition of "Inside Media." The duo will take on all sports-related questions, from the history of ESPN to the enduring power of the NFL to the fate of the hometown Washington Redskins. The panel will be moderated by newseum vice chairman and veteran journalist Shelby Coffey. The program is free with regular paid admission. Seating is on a space-available basis.
