Dr. Rosenbloom will expose the conflicts between the needs of different members of the community, differences often hidden or ignored and that frequently break along age and class lines. Dr. Rosenbloom will explore the reasons why planners may be unwilling to expend resources on aging-in-place neighborhoods if those places are not also high density with mixed land uses.
Dr. Rosenbloom is Director of the Urban Institute's program, Innovation in Infrastructure. She is an internationally recognized transportation researcher; the Chair of the Executive Committee of the Transportation Research Board and the TRB International Secretary; and an active member of the editorial boards of all the leading journals in urban planning and transportation policy and planning.
