On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maryland will launch a new university calendar that will streamline and replace the FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD calendars. Beginning Sept. 8, you will be able to submit your events to the new campus calendar for review and approval, much like the current process for FYI and Free Stuff @ UMD. On Sept. 8, if you visit this website, you will automatically be redirected to the new calendar. In addition, a new weekly email called UMD This Week will launch on Sept. 8, replacing the daily FYI email. UMD This Week will be delivered at the beginning of every week and will highlight top upcoming events. Workshop on Cyber-Security and Dependability for Next Generation Vehicular Systems

Professor Gang Qu (ECE/ISR/MC2) is organizing a workshop on cyber-security and dependability for next generation vehicular systems. The will be held in the Robert H. Smith School of Business in the University of Maryland, College Park on Nov. 8 and Nov. 9.

The goal of this workshop is to discuss, identify and address the challenges related to achieving real-time safety, dependability, availability, and security for forthcoming generations of CyberVehicle systems. The workshop brings together experts from industry, government, defense, and research domains to highlight the standing challenges in this area and discuss the various approaches/initiatives needed for addressing these challenges.

The workshop is free, but on invitation only. If you are interested in attending the workshop, please contact Dr. Qu (gangqu@umd.edu). The workshop is funded by Army Research Laboratory and supported by multiple units on the campus (ECE, ISR, MC2, Smith School of Business).
